October 31, 1944 k3puck4@aol.com Bloomington MN US semi-retired lawyer Married 2 Groveland

What a class we had!  So many memories, but none more vivid than Miss Malmen’s English class.  Still remember the definition “exaggeration not intended to deceive” but don’t remember the word it defines.  Perhaps my story?  Anyway, after graduation, off to the U of M (along with well over 100 CHS classmates).  Graduated in 1966, Phi Beta Kappa,  and on to the U Law School (along with at least 10 CHS classmates.)   Just getting settled, made the Law Review,  when she-who-cannot–be-named dumped me. Never figured out why.  Couldn’t have been something about me, but I digress.  Spent the summer of ’68 as a law clerk in San Francisco, living in Haight Ashbury.  Unfortunately, the flower children had moved out and Hell’s Angels had moved in. Bad timing.  Survived, graduated in ’69, magna cum laude, met and married Maribeth, the future looked bright.  But………..Uncle Sam wanted me.

So, off to the University of Virginia to learn Army Think.  Then to Fort Hood Texas, where nothing memorable happened except the birth of first son, Derek.  Unfortunately, he decided to arrive on the day I had to pull a 24 hour shift at the headquarters building.  More bad timing.  Not that it mattered since Darnell Army Hospital wouldn’t let fathers in waiting wait at the hospital anyway.  Gotta love the Army way.  Next stop, Vietnam.  Spent a year with the First Cav and was one of the lucky ones.  Only injury came during a softball game.  Left with  a bronze star and the only real tan I have ever had.  Final duty station, Oakland, California.  Moved into our apartment in Berkeley the same day Nixon mined  Haiphong harbor.  Still more bad timing.  Grew my hair way too long for the Army brass, but still too short for the natives.  Loved every non-working minute of the Bay Area.  2nd son Kyle born at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital and, unlike the Army, very father friendly .  16 days later, a free man headed back to Minnesota.

Joined Doherty Rumble & Butler, made partner, and promptly left to help found new firm now known as Lockridge Grindal Nauen.  DRB later went bankrupt while I had a relatively successful career as an antitrust trial lawyer. Good timing.  Had some big wins, including one before the United States Supreme Court, tempered by an occasional  ego deflating loss. Still at it, but winding down.

Over the years, found time to coach hockey, soccer and baseball for almost 10 years. In 2006, while driving to the hospital to see first grandchild, Charlie, got a call I didn’t want… “You have the Big C.”  Really bad timing.  Thanks to some marvelous folks at the Mayo Clinic, beat it and have been cancer free for 6 years.   Enjoy photography, mainly Minnesota North Shore and American Southwest, travel and too many other interests to list.  Granddaughter Amelia arrived in 2010 and now, all is well with my world.

February 16, 1944 jocollects@comcast.net Castle Rock CO US Retired Teacher Married 2 Longfellow Elementary
Bill & I married in college (MSU) & have stayed married for 46 yrs. We have 2 daughters, 4 granddaughters & 1 grandson.  I taught school for almost 30 years (1/2 yr. in Central High basement) & then bought & sold antiques in Stillwater, MN for 12 years. We just moved to Castle Rock, CO in Dec. & love it here. Our hobbies now are gold prospecting, rock hounding, metal detecting & fixing up our house. We have a Bernese Mtn. dog who we have trained as a therapy dog. We hope to take her to the library & have children read to her. Great for kids with reading difficulties. We've had a great life & our kids & grandchildren are doing great! Can't ask for more than that. Don't know if I'll make it back to MN in Aug. but I'll try. I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers me ( I was kind of quiet in high school) & friend me on Facebook (Mary Jo Weber). I've found that's a good way to stay in touch with people - especially my family. Good memories of Central! Send Mary Jo a MessageSend Mary Jo a Message

January 10, 1944 ccselander@comcast.net Oakdale MN US 3M IT - Retired Married 2 Nativity Grade School & St Thomas HS
After graduating college I went to work at 3M as a statistical analyst, accounting report analyst and control operations analyst in IT. After 36 years I retired in 2004.  42 years ago I married Rita Shaughnessy and even though I'm sure she could have done better she is still with me today. We have 1 single son and 1 married daughter and 2 beautiful grandkids who like us love Minnesota and live in the Metro area.

Retirement has given us the opportunity to travel to many destinations in Canada and the USA including several fishing and site seeing trips to Alaska.  Switzerland, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Britain, Italy and Sicily have been our Europian destinations and we are looking forward to a 22 day tour of Australia and New Zealand  in November.

Winters find Rita and I in Mariucci Arena where we have season tickets for Gopher hockey. Our son played hockey at Hamline University and our daughter played at Augsburg College and they both coach highschool hockey. We are a hockey family.

I am looking  forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.  If you just can't wait to see me in person, send me a note or email. I would love to hear from you.
